In reply to Jeanine Donofrio. So I’m not totally off my rocker! I thought the recipe changed because I didn’t remember using butter and sugar the last time I made it. It’s so good and I wonder how different it would taste with the change. I’ll find out!

I made these 2 nights ago and they are a new favorite! I used the recipe as stated, with butter and sugar. I was afraid I over-boiled the chocolate mixture because I was nervous about taking it off the heat too soon but it turned out fine. I want to try the coconut oil version next.

The coconut oil made it very greasy and no matter how long we waited they never really solidified. I guess the maple syrup made them more healthy, but the flavor was definitely off.

In reply to Dolly. Where I live, no butter is vegan, unfortunately. But swapping it with coconut oil works well enough.
