Hi Heather, when it whips, I guess it is like a frosting texture. I&#039;m not sure if yours came out thicker or thinner than you expected? I think the blender and food processor would have similar results, but the thickness could vary on the brand of ricotta. My favorite is the Belgioioso brand. Hope that helps!]]></description>
