10 Favorite Soup Season Recipes

Healthy vegetarian soup recipes - Red Curry Lemongrass Soup, Carrot Soup, Ribollita and more!

Cauliflower Minestrone with Kale Pesto (vegan, gluten free) untitled-1 Creamy Vegan Corn Chowder

First off, I owe a huge THANK YOU to all of you who nominated and voted for us in this year’s Saveur Blog awards – we won!

Now to celebrate with… soup! I spent the past few weeks in Chicago where I watched summer turn to fall over night. One day we were eating corn on the back patio, the next morning I was hugging a hot bowl of oatmeal. Yes, I am the biggest wimp when there is even the slightest bit of chill in the air. I’m back in sunny Austin now but I caught this cold on the airplane and now all I can think about is tea and soup. Here are 10 of my favorites that would hit the spot right about now. (Click on the photos to go to each recipe)

All of these are beautiful! I don’t know which I like most! With warm weather finally here (in San Diego, at least), I’m sure to being making many if not all of these over the next weeks and months.

  7. Holy cow this is the most comforting food I’ve ever seen. You must be reading my mind or my taste buds because all of my favorite foods are highlighted in your post. I could eat this stuff all day.
Also, my body constitution is one that is always cold and there’s nothing more warming than the soups and stews and noodles and oodles of yumminess you shared – thank you.

Your soups look so yummy. I’m really feeling that creamy tomato soup, today. It’s a thunderstormy day around here in Kansas.

  9. Congrats for winning, yay! Soup and tea are just the things I’m craving for on these chilly days. Thanks for the inspiration! xo

  10. Congratulations!
We have soup every Tuesday night. Actually, most of our French friends have soup every night for supper (called souper in French–from the word soupe). This is probably why they are thinner than we are. But once a week is a start.
    This post is a keeper.

We love the soup recipes on your blog! In fact, last night we had the vegan corn chowder for dinner! It was a great late summer/early fall recipe as the temperature is dropping a bit.

The Vegan Corn Chowder is AMAZING! Perfect football food…goes a long way with some toasted thick and crunchy bread and a salad. Fed 8 people last night and everyone LOVED it! I can’t wait to make it again. The potatoes make it!
