Haven't made these yet, but they sound delicious, and I'm a big fan of your recipes.

I do have some questions:

Could these mushrooms be made ahead of time and reheated in a pan or the air fryer? I'm planning a meal for a large crowd.

How important is the cast iron pan?

Thanks so much for sharing your wonderful recipes!

I start mushrooms over medium heat (or medium low) in a pan with no oil. It sounds scary, but what happens is the mushrooms release their liquid first. I watch carefully, usually with a wooden spoon in my hand, and once any liquid has evaporated, I gently stir the mushroom, add oil, or butter, depending on what I'm making. and carry on. The result is nicely browned mushrooms and great taste.

This recipe for sauteed mushrooms looks very good, so I'll give it a try.
