Lemon Ginger Gimlets

Lemon Ginger Gimlets are a pretty, healthier drink perfect for New Year's Eve, Christmas, or any winter cocktail hour. Easy to make!

Lemon Ginger Gimlets

It’s Friday, and it’s 5 o’clock somewhere – can we take a moment and cheers to that? These lemon ginger gimlets are the final recipe that I contributed to our Meals for Me & You feature on Anthropologie’s blog. I’m calling them “Gimlets with a Girlfriend” – so go grab your bff and mix these up tonight. Plus, lemon + ginger = “healthy drinking.”

A lot has been going on this week so, if it’s alright with you, I’m going to speak in bullet points today. Here are links to some random bits that I found delicious and interesting:

– This is crazy, but we’ve somehow been nominated for this Better Homes and Gardens Food Blog Award – if you have a sec, it would mean the world to me if you clicked over and voted!

  • 1 tablespoon meyer lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon agave nectar
  • splash of ginger juice*
  • splash of sparkling water
  • lemon peels, for garnish

  1. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add the gin, lemon juice, agave nectar, ginger juice, and a handful of crushed ice ice. Shake for 20 seconds, then strain into two glasses. Top with a splash of sparkling water. Garnish with lemon peel.
Notes
*I like this brand of ginger juice, I usually get it at Whole Foods, Central Market or Wheatsville Coop. It lasts awhile in the fridge and it's great for smoothies as well.

Special thanks to Anthropologie for providing the tableware items in this post!

Hi Rachel – sorry I forgot to link it! I love the Ginger People’s ginger juice. I buy it at Whole Foods and similar stores – here’s a link to it on amazon: http://amzn.to/1QC4u6G

I used this citrus peeler, http://amzn.to/1XQiiQZ, to make one long peel (works best on a really soft meyer lemon), then wrapped it around a chopstick and froze it so that it would keep it’s curly shape 🙂

Love this! I had no idea ginger juice was sold in any other format than the tiny overpriced bottles in juice shops. Will have to pick up a bottle next time I’m in Whole Foods 🙂

Tried it today with freshly grated ginger as didn’t have ginger juice- a scant 1/8 teaspoon – and juice from a pink lemon (that’s all I had) and I absolutely love this combination. Yum! Thanks!
