Hi Mandy, avocado isn't traditional in Green Goddess but you can add it if you would like! you could add avocado and reduce the yogurt, if it's too thick, add a bit of water.

I'm surprised to see Avocado missing in the ingredients. In every recipe I see today, they all omit that. I'm old and I remember when this dressing was popular in the 60s, which coincided with the introduction and easy availability of Avocados in US diets. Recipes were suddenly showing up for ways to use Avocado for more than just a dip for chips. And one of those recipes was Green Goddess Dressing - the name also a play on South American mythology of gods and goddesses. I haven't tried this recipe, but I will, I will also incorporate some Avocado to half of it and see if there is a difference in taste, though I already know there will be a difference in creaminess and the color. Besides, Avocados are packed with nutrients and fiber, which is a plus.
I do not want to rate this yet, but I can't seem to post this without doing it, so I am giving you the benefit of the doubt that this recipe is 5 stars.
