They wouldn&#039;t be the same - cocoa powder is not as dense as water. 

Four fluid (volumetric) ounces of water (half a cup) would weigh about 113g. 

Four volumetric ounces (half a cup) of cocoa powder weighs more like 60g, which is the measurement I typically use, though the 70g used in the recipe isn&#039;t overly disproportionate. 

When I made this cake, I used 70g as directed in the recipe. 

FYI, this is also a reasonable volume/ weight conversion for powdered sugar - half a cup of that weighs about 60g.

Half a cup of AP flour weighs about 68g, and even a half a cup of granulated sugar weighs less than water - about 100g.]]></description>
