A peek into my morning routine

Over the years, I've become a total morning person. Here's a peek into my routine including the veggie breakfast sandwiches I'm obsessed with!

Today I’m taking a break from sharing a recipe to show you a peek into my world at home – specifically, my morning routine. For me, every day always looks a little different. Some days are spent shooting photos, other days are spent writing blog posts, planning recipes, laying out book pages, emailing, testing, the list goes on and on. Suffice it to say, many of my days are pretty chaotic, so one thing I’ve learned to value over time is having a morning routine. I feel like it’s a great way to ready myself for the rest of the…

Carrot Smørrebrød Crisps

Inspired by open-faced Danish Smørrebrød sandwiches, I made an all-veggie version using smoky roasted & marinated carrots instead of salmon.

A few years ago, Jack and I visited Copenhagen, where we ate lots and lots (and lots) of Smørrebrød. If you aren’t familiar with smørrebrød, they are open faced sandwiches with artfully-piled toppings on dense, rectangle-shaped rye bread. It’s the national dish of Denmark… that I’m about to make a completely non-traditional version of – but this is super yummy, so let’s just have fun and go with it! 🙂 Smørrebrød toppings vary widely, but many common combinations include smoked salmon and dill. I’ve been wanting to create a fun veggie variation for a while now, so when Wasa, my favorite…

It’s here! My new cookbook, Love & Lemons Every Day, is out TODAY!! I’m so excited to be sitting here writing this post, because the process of making this book was a long one! About 3 years ago, I set out with SO many ideas that I wanted to pack into this book. Over time, I kept adding more and more… and more. I’d think – “Ooh, this section would be helpful,” or “Oh I’d like to have that information on hand,” and “Let’s add MORE dinner recipes,” etc, etc. As I got carried away, the process got longer, the book…

Valentine’s Day Recipes

These treats, snacks, date-night dinners, and desserts are perfect for a Valentine's Day celebration! Vegan and gluten-free options included.

I hope you have some special Valentine’s plans this week! Ever since I was a little kid, I’ve had a soft spot in my heart for heart-shaped treats. As an adult, it’s one of the most special holidays that Jack and I celebrate. Traditionally, it’s the one night a year that he cooks by himself, and whatever he decides to make is always a surprise. His trip to the grocery store, with zero guidance, is an approximately 2-hour adventure, and by the time dinner is done, every pot in the kitchen has been used. Suffice it to say that we’ve…

My Daily Tea Routine

I'm absolutely obsessed with tea, and here are 3 teas that I've been loving lately as part of my daily routine!

It’s an understatement to say that we really love tea. We drink more tea in our household than all other beverages combined. Green tea, hibiscus tea, and fennel tea are some of our regulars, but this post is about 3 new (to me) teas that I’ve started incorporating into my daily routine over the last few weeks. We’re partnering with Traditional Medicinals on this post because their teas are so wonderful. My obsession with Traditional Medicinals started years ago. I was feeling under the weather and my throat needed some support. My mom told me “you have to try this…

Because this maki sushi recipe is fun, affordable, and way more fresh than take-out sushi… but the best part is that you can get creative about what you choose to fill your rolls with.
