I have your #2 the Oxo – its ok. I don’t seem to use it as often as I thought I would. I think having the Benriner I’d maybe pull it out more often (?)
Still terrified to take off a finger either way 😉

I have an old classic all metal mandoline. Love it. But I started loving it a lot more when someone years ago recommended a metal mesh glove! Now I use the mandoline often!
