The apple spice flavor ruined it in my option- wish I just did cinnamon. We threw most of it away.

Lovely apple pie! My husband Rupert loves this pie more than anything last year i thought he was cheating on me with my neighbour Beth and I told her you stay away from Rupert and then I baked him this very pie and said if you cheat on me you will never taste this pie again and since then he has never cheated on me since!!

It becomes a bit dry.. but it will come out good if you have frozen it in the baking tin!!

Congratulations, this is more or less my recipe for over 45 years!! In time I made some changes, but mostly not permanent, but only to try, like muesli on the first layer, some raisons and nuts, nice marmelade.. but the taste is what counts..

Hi Maureen, I haven’t tried this, but I think it might work! I would thaw it overnight in the fridge before baking.
