I used a bunch of sweet and fragrant apples and I cooked the apple butter for two hours at low heat stirring often. Anyway, the apple butter is delicious. Thank you for the recipe.

In reply to Dave. Hi Dave, we used dark brown sugar, if that helps. This is a shortcut method for apple butter that doesn't caramelize as much as a longer, slow-cooked method, but we love it!

Theres no shot you got that deep color cooking it with spices for 40minutes to an hour….this is a recipe for apple sauce

Took a long time to make this and it came out like applesauce. Looks like other people have the same problem. I think there’s too much water in this recipe. The consistency was wrong, as was the flavor. Bummer!
